Sampling Campaign in the Al Assi River Basin - Lebanon

In March, June, and October 2025, our partner POLIBA, in collaboration with the ICU team in Lebanon, conducted three major water sampling campaigns in the Al Assi River Basin. The teams collected samples from river water, domestic water sources, natural springs, and the local aquifer to support a detailed assessment of water quality in the area.

Despite field challenges linked to local instability during those months, the campaigns were completed.

All collected samples are now undergoing comprehensive chemical analyses, including tests for heavy metals, to understand the basin’s environmental conditions and identify potential risks.
